1988: Learning and applying passive (contemplative) meditation

Mar 19, 2026

Practice with Sister Iniga, Baldegger Order.
Joint application: 70 hrs., in Hertenstein
at the Boarding School I attended.

Contemplative meditation is a form of quiet, inward reflection in which you consciously focus on a topic, thought, text (e.g., spiritual phrase), or inner image for an extended period of time in order to gain deeper insights and collect yourself inwardly.

Unlike pure relaxation meditation, it is less about “thinking of nothing” and more about observing thoughts and feelings related to this focus in an open, alert attitude without judging them, thereby promoting inner clarity, self-reflection, spiritual connection, and inner peace step by step.
